Criminal Background check

I am applying for a job with the county and they performed a criminal background check. Last November, I was arrested for petty theft and placed on a program, I believe it was deferred prosecution so i am wondering if this will show up on a background check or if it will prevent me from being hired. The job is as a lifeguard.

Does a foreclosure show up on a criminal background check? I know it’s on my counties public records website and since it has to go to court will it show on a background check? Don’t have a bad criminal background at all,just losing our home through these bad times,and the landlord has to do a criminal background check,they don’t check credit,which I know foreclosure is on that. Once you have been fingerprinted in a police station will it come up on a criminal background check in a different county? I got offered a pretty good job in a different county from where i got booked and released, but they ask for fingerprints before they hire me. I would have to go to the Police station and get fingerprinted. Should I even bother. I haven’t gone to court for that ticket yet.

What is the best way to do this? There are so many online sites offering this but how do I know which ones are legit and the most thorough? I don’t mind paying as long as I know I’m going with a reputable and thorough company.
